So, this was a long weekend for Edwin, and he's kindof tired now.  We left Friday morning after 3 hours of sleep for us parents (long night of packing) and went to Syracuse where Michael was working for the day.  I went around to AAA and various stores and finally to the mall (where Edwin had the largest gooiest poop ever!  ICK!).  Then, we arrived and Aunt Carolyn's new apartment (where she's been about 2 weeks) at around 11:15pm.  Saturday, we saw Great-Grandpa, Grandma, and Grandpa basically all day.  Then, Sunday morning we saw everyone again.  Sunday at 3pm was Jeff and Jess's wedding.  It was a small and simple quiet ceremony in a rural area which lasted 25 minutes.  Then, at 6pm the biggest bash of the century ensued.  There were about 5 or 6 times the number of guests at the reception as at the wedding!

When we arrived with Edwin decked out in a tux, we ended up being incorporated into various family photos and professional shots.  What a riot!  Everyone thought Edwin was the cutest thing they'd ever seen!  I felt like Edwin was part of the bridal party or something!

There was a totally open bar for 6 hours (not that we could stay long enough to make use of it!) and performers flown in from Egypt (bellydancers, dancers, band) and Irish dancing girls.  Oh, plus a normal DJ.  The hors d'oeuvres hour from 6-7 included an entire meal all by itself with beef, chicken and eggplant entrees, various salads, olives, and so on.  And, unfortunately, as wonderful as the various dancers were, it was too loud for Edwin.  Michael and I had to take turns out of the banquet hall watching him. It was our intent to leave at 8:30, but we didn't leave until almost 9pm, which is when the pre-dinner sorbet was just showing up (after the bread, salad, champagne-toast, and pasta) so I presume the entrees probably arrived around 9:20 or so?  It would be at least 10pm by time they cut the cake, I'm sure.  There was dancing between the courses also, but not American dancing.  Mostly, it was Arabic traditional-wedding events.  So, Edwin shut down.  Too loud.  Too active.  We got stuck in construction on the way back to Carolyn's and arrived around 10pm, I think.  We left there at 7am today and arrived home around 12:40 (we stopped for lunch also).  He's been sleeping most of today.  What a good sport.  Such a wonderful wonderful kid!  More accomodating than I would have ever hoped for.  What kid lasts that long in such a place?! We also got to see Joni!!!
