"I would like my feet wiped, please!"
This story is from last Sunday. Edwin had made an accident at church, so he came home wearing a very stylish jacket, button down shirt, and a pullup. He was playing in the livingroom while I worked on a pumpkin pie. Michael was tailoring, and Zachary was playing with the toys in the boys' bedroom. So, Edwin walks into the kitchen and says to me, "I would like my feet wiped, please." And I was confused. Now, Zachary often says "nose wipe!" when his nose is dirty, but I could not figure out how Edwin's feet would be excessively dirty.. what got stuck to his feet? Or did I just not hear him correctly. When asked, he nicely repeated, "I would like my feet wiped, please". And I then looked at his feet and saw what for a millisecond looked like mud. He had not been outside... And of course, he had just walked in from the livingroom. Oh! OH!!! OK!!! So I picked him up and carefully avoided the poop in the livingroom and carried him upstairs, touching him as little as possible... and placed him in the bathtub. "We have a poop emergency!" I yelled to Michael ... and I left Michael with Edwin while I cleaned the livingroom rug and the diningroom floor.
