As Michael and I were sitting here in the dining room, me complaining about the National BSA website being completely broken and he, reading an enlightening book about clock-building, we noticed a buzzing noise.  I traced it to the livingroom.  It was an alarm.  Specifically, it was a recurring alarm set on "Edwin's cell phone".  (Edwin and Zachary have taken over my old cellphones which no longer have cell service, and are using them as tiny Android devices.)

I reported to Michael that this was Edwin's "midnight alarm".  Of course, I turned it off.  But Michael had presumed that this was simply a mistaken alarm, set by accident, because midnight is the standard "broken clock" or default time.

Nope.  "This is a 'midnight alarm'.  I mean really. I mean he *labeled* it as 'midnight alarm'. ", I explained.  Then, he grinned.

We both looked at each other and laughed.  This *is* quintessential Edwin, after all!
