Compound third class lever

Edwin has been reading The New Way Things Work at night.  Since this was a book I spent many hours with as a child, I can often tell when something he remembers came from that book.  (It's a good way to tell he's actually reading...)  Today, when he was clipping his fingernails, he informed me "fingernail clippers use a compound third class lever".  Indeed, and he knew the definitions of examples of the other classes as well -- straight from the book.
