I told Edwin that words have one vowel per syllable, but if there are 2 vowels, it is really just one. He has to pick "motorcycle" as his first example. So I am thinking, ok.. "o" then "o" then "y" because y can be a vowel, which we have probably told him, and then... silent "e" which he understands ... crud. The 4th syllable is from the vocalic "L"...
My Edwin *would* have to come up with that as his first example!
